18 months.... But According to Hannah, She's 2!

The title of this post says it all!  Hannah is so independent and does everything in her power to do everything Emma is doing. She tells me she is two all the time.  She says "no, me" if she wants to do something by herself, such as get in her car seat without help.

Hannah had her 18 month checkup last week and is doing great.  She weighs 24.5 pounds (74th percentile), and is 32 inches long (71st percentile).  The doctor was very impressed by how much she is talking and stringing words together, such as "other one" or "no mine."

It is a fun time of year for Hannah because we have been going to the park a lot and she can now go down the big slides by herself!  Our little climber tries to climb everything and has no fear, so we really have to watch her.  She had a blast at the couple of pumpkin patches we went to this year as well.  She is very social and loves being in the middle of all the action.

Hannah loves seeing little babies when we are out and about, so I think she will love being a big sister in 6 more months.  She kisses Mommy's tummy just like Emma used to do, and points to it and says "baby."  She's so used to being the baby that it will be interesting to see what she thinks when baby comes out!

Love and hugs to all from Hannah!

16 Months - Big Girl, Even Bigger Personality!

Hannah Renee.... such a smart, sweet little sassy-pants at 16 months of age!  She weighs almost 24 pounds and is 31 inches tall.  Hannah is now running around like crazy, which helps her to keep up with Emma.  She loves to hide from us, and is quite good at it.  She'll go stand in a closet or behind a door, and holds perfectly still without making a peep.

Hannah is quite the talker.  She is starting to string words together to form short sentences.  It is getting easier for her to communicate what she wants.  She knows all of the parts on her head and can point to them and say them (hair, eyes, nose, ears, mouth).  Some of her favorite books to read are "Hands Hands Fingers Thumb," "Moo Baa La La La" and "Pajama Time."  She says certain parts of them along with me when we read together.  Hannah also loves songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus and If You're Happy and You Know It.  She never hesitates to dance and sing along!

Those of you close to Hannah also know that she has a great sense of humor.  She loves making people laugh, especially Emma.  It is so obvious that Emma is her best friend and that she looks up to her so much already.

14 Months Going on 2 Years ;)

Our little Miss Independent is growing leaps and bounds each day.  She is now 22.8 pounds and is walking/trying to run everywhere.  It's getting easier for her to keep up with Emma now!  She is only about 6 inches shorter than her big sis, so she's catching up with her in that department too.

Hannah is such a funny baby and her sense of humor is really starting to shine.  She loves to laugh at herself and to make others laugh.  Her smiles and giggles are contagious.  We'll often catch herself tickling her own toes in the car and cracking herself up.  Han-cakes is getting more teeth in lately, so we get to see those with each smile.

She is also talking a lot and is starting to repeat more and more words and phrases.  If she makes Emma cry (we're going through a bit of a biting phase!), she will say "sorry" and automatically give her a kiss. Some of her frequent words are blankie, milk, snack, up, down, hi, bye, thank you, Emma, toes, tickle, noes, eyes, yes and no.  Hannah is such a social butterfly, and loves chatting with anyone and everyone.  She charms people everywhere from the grocery store to the gym.

This month Hannah made her first trip to Alaska to see Namma, Pa, Gaga and the rest of the Godkin side of the family.  She loved going on hikes, swinging and running through Pa's lawn.  Next month we're off to see Grammy, Papa and her uncles and aunts in San Diego!  She'll get to visit the beach, go to Legoland and much more.  So much to explore and discover at this fun age!

Happy First Birthday, Hannah Renee!

Our baby has officially graduated from infant to toddler status.... Where does the time go?!?  Hannah just got home from her 12 month doctor visit and she weighs 21 pounds, 13 ounces (78th percentile) and is 30 inches long.  Dr. A commented on what a smiley, engaging and social baby she is.

Hannah celebrated her one year birthday with the whole family, including both sets of grandparents and Uncle Matt, at the trampoline park and Red Robin.  She also had a birthday party at the park the next day with friends and family.  It was a fun-filled weekend full of smiles, laughter and lots of sweet treats!

This past month has been one of several more milestones.  Hannah took her first steps a couple of weeks before she turned one.  She still prefers to do what we call the "Hannah shuffle," where she scoots on her knees.  However, when she's in the mood, she will walk between two people or from one piece of furniture to another.  She loves getting around the house on her ride-on toys and Y-Bike.

Hannah loves reading and singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider."  She has all the hand motions down and her face lights up when she hears it!  She also loves dancing to the Dora and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse songs.  She twists and bounces around on her knees with the biggest smile you've ever seen.

Just recently Hannah transitioned to whole milk, and wants to eat everything Emma eats.  She loves almost all fruits, but does not like anything pureed anymore.  Goldfish and graham crackers are some of her favorite snacks.

Mommy, Daddy and Emma are just so in love with sweet Hannah.  She brings an infinite amount of joy to our lives.  We look forward to what her second year has in store!

11 Months -- So Much Personality!

Wow!  It is just setting in that next time I write a blog post, Hannah will be one year old!  Where does the time go?  Hannah is just such a happy baby - a perfect mix of sweet and spunky.  She is loving and loves giving kisses and cuddles.  She is also strong-willed, knows what she wants and is pretty good at communicating to us what that is.

Hannah weighs 22 pounds and is looking more and more grown up by the day.  She has a healthy appetite and loves eating real food.  She's not really a fan of purees any more.  Basically whatever Emma is eating is what she wants!

Our active baby girl loves pushing anything and everything around the house.... her high chair and chairs are some favorites.  Who needs walkers when you have a creative mind like Hannah?!?  She lets go of things with both hands and stands on her own for up to 30 seconds.  When she realizes nothing is holding her up, she sits down.  She loves 'finger walking' too; especially when we walk her around outside.

Hannah still loves reading books.  Her current favorite is 10 In The Bed.  She is quite verbal and tries to repeat almost everything she hears.  Some of her latest words are: no-no, Emma, thank you, go, milk, more, all done, car, dogs, snack, wa-wa (water).  Hannah also lights up with smiles and giggles when Dora or Mickey Mouse come on TV.  She dances during the songs, and is a big fan of the Hot Dog Dance!

This past month Hannah got to go swimming for the first time, and she loved splashing around in the water.  She also had a lot of park time and mastered not only crawling up stairs, but also climbing slides!  Just like Emma, she loves going on the swings too.  Justin got the bounce house out recently too, and the girls entertain themselves for hours on end bouncing inside and going down the slide.

Happy Spring from our family to yours!  Sending hugs your way.

10 Months Old - Our Social Butterfly!

Hannah is officially 2 months away from her first birthday and has such a fun, social personality. We get comments from strangers frequently about how social she is... she loves smiling and 'talking' to everyone who crosses her path.  Of course she wins over people's hearts quickly with those big blue eyes and sweet smile!

Our chubby little sweetheart weighs 21.2 pounds.  She's catching up with Emma quickly (only 8 pounds away)! She now has four teeth on the top and two on the bottom, and still loves putting anything and everything in her mouth to chew on. She is eating more of the foods that we are eating and loves scrambled eggs, spaghetti, and especially peas and macaroni & cheese.  She loves being able to eat what Emma is eating.

This month Hannah has continued to walk along the furniture, and will let go with both hands and stand on her own for several seconds.  She uses her push toys to test out walking from time to time but isn't a huge fan of the idea yet.  We are amazed at how many words she has started saying recently.  Some of these are: mama, dada, Emma, Jersey, no no no, here go, more, and neigh.  She also signs for more and all done.

Hannah loves playing with Emma and they are quite attached at the hip!  Of course, it's not always smooth sailing.... they usually want what the other one has and there are meltdowns from time to time when one takes something away from the other.

Hannah is loving our beautiful Arizona sunshine because that means more park time!  She loves the swings, sand and grass.  Today we went to the train park and she had a blast riding the train and carousel.  Being outside is one of her favorite things to do.  Many afternoons we take her outside in her walker so she can cruise around the driveway.

We hope everyone is having a great February and if you don't already follow us on Instagram, you can find us under akamyjohn and sprit12.  We post pictures of the girls daily on there!

January 2014 - 9 Months

Happy New Year to all our friends and family.  We just got back from Hannah's 9 month doctor's appointment and she is doing great... aced the 9 month questionnaire!  She weighs 20 pounds, 11 ounces (84th percentile) and is 28 inches long.

This past month, Hannah has been changing so much and doing new things on a daily basis.  She is crawling everywhere very quickly and loves following Emma and the dogs around.  Our big girl is pulling herself up on to furniture, mommy and daddy's legs, and anything she can get a hold of!  She is also walking along the furniture and even lets go with one hand.  She is babbling more and more, and says two syllable words like ma-ma, da-da, ba-ba, ga-ga.

Hannah loves to play Pat-a-Cake, and do Itsy Bitsy Spider.  It's so cute to see her clap along and her face just lights up.  She also loves playing peek-a-boo and hide and seek with Emma.  They are playing together much more these days and Hannah is loving it...she feels like such a big girl!  Just like her big sister, Hannah loves reading books and will sit and turn pages on her own.  Her favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

She has four teeth (2 top and 2 bottom), and is eating some real food now.  She loves mac and cheese, peas, Cheerios and blueberries.  Teething biscuits are another favorite since she is teething lots lately.

We are still working on sleeping through the night.... we got spoiled with Emma sleeping through the night at 4-5 months, so this is all new to us.  The doctor recommended giving her water when she wakes up at night, so we'll see how mad that makes her tonight and report back next month!

That's all for now.... Hugs from all of the Johns!
